Head Shape Matters® Hands-On Certification
Now offering a new hybrid 3-day Hands-On Certification in the patented Head Shape Matters® haircutting method—taught by Kim Moore.
Two mannequins will be provided. A straight/wavy and a curly mannequin.
Whether you’re a seasoned stylist or just starting your career, this experience is designed to fast-track your understanding of customized haircutting based on each client’s unique head shape, hair density, and texture.
We will use both the HSM Haircut Calculator and the Haircut Shape Builder board in class.
Everyone who registers will receive access to the Haircut Calculator at the beginning of October. This will give you approximately three weeks to complete the app onboarding course and become comfortable using it before we meet in Ohio.

Each participant is provided a mannequin, a workbook, and a Certificate of Completion. You will need to bring the following:
- Tripod
- Shears
- Comb with measurements
- 12 duckbill clips
- Seamstress style measuring tape
- Protractor
- Blow-dryer, round brush, flat iron, & diffuser
- Notebook & pen
- Favorite stylist products
Everyone receives a Certificate of Completion but not everyone gets Certified, at least not right away. To become Certified you must succeed at three separate assessments: terminology, formulating, and a technical assessment. These allow us to determine your understanding and competencies around the information you learned during Certification. However, the answer is never no, it's "not yet". With time and practice, everyone that has wanted to become Certified eventually has. We all learn and comprehend at our own pace and I'm here to help.
Absolutely! You may want more time using the system behind the chair, you may just enjoy a challenge, or want to learn the information. These assessments are included in the course and they are optional.
I will call each participant individually within 48 hours of the course completion. During the call, we will discuss your assessments, I will let you know if you are Certified or if you may need a little more direction in a certain area, and I will answer any questions you may have.
Due to the limited and hands-on nature of this class, all sales are final.
You can transfer your seat to another stylist up to 7 days before the event.
Need to cancel within 7 days? We’ll issue a credit toward a future HSM workshop.
